inaugurated the exhibition "The world upside down" by Marc Chagall, the Ara Pacis in Rome. I never liked Chagall, has always left me a sense of not belonging to his paintings. Today for the first time I saw a different Chagall, works that had never seen (in fact many of the paintings have never been shown). I really liked this Chagall, perhaps due to the fact that the exhibition was organized and edited by Maurice Fréchuret, Director of the national museums of the twentieth century of the Alpes-Maritimes and Elisabeth Pacoud-Reme, head of collections at the Musée National Marc Chagall. Vi consiglio una visita.

Chagall. Il mondo sottosopra
La mostra intende illustrare, attraverso una selezione di circa 140 opere tra dipinti e disegni realizzati tra il 1917 e il 1982, provenienti da prestigiose collezioni pubbliche e private, la sua straordinaria e personalissima rappresentazione del mondo, un mondo ”sottosopra”, in cui Chagall mette in atto un capovolgimento dell’ordinamento classico, challenging in his works the laws of gravity and creating a strong affinity with the pictorial universe proposed by the Surrealists.
"A man walking needs to be reflected in his fellow man instead to emphasize his movement" as "a vertical vessel in there, it must fall to prove his stability." Is this the world "upside down" imagined by Marc Chagall (1887 - 1985), told in an exceptional exhibition of twenty-five years after his death .
